I help students write application essays for graduate school and papers in literature, history, theology, political science, sociology, and economics. I also help students grasp and understand what they read in those subjects and others. I have a working knowledge of statistics in case that is helpful.
I have a Master's degree in literature from the University of Chicago and over twenty-five years of experience in working with writers of all levels. Students I have worked with have been accepted into places such as Stanford, Harvard, Cornell, Williams, Amherst, and other top universities. I have worked with undergraduate and PhD students from the University of Chicago, as well as professors to edit grant applications and research articles.
I particularly enjoy working with students from other countries to help them improve their research and writing skills and adjust to what's expected at an American university. My approach with students is to help them shape their ideas and organize their thoughts, and I can edit and proofread papers and application essays that students have already written. I can help you at whatever stage of the writing process you're at in whatever way would help you best. I am available through Skype, email, and WeChat.
My rates are reasonable ($35-$50/hour), and I can negotiate over how much time will be required. I have references from parents of students I have worked with, and I would be happy to share those with you.
